AdoptResources was founded in 2009 by Fiona, an adoptive parent, to provide practical information and resources to anyone involved in adoption. There are resources to suit everyone, from the thinking about stage through to placement and beyond.Through personal experience and professional training, Fiona has developed packages of support that offer practical day-to-day strategies and tips to help families deal with the challenges and issues they face in adoption. These practical tips and strategies help translate the theory of adoption and attachment into everyday family life.Services and resources are relevant to parents and practitioners.
Mum to three adopted children
Fiona is Mum to 3 children through adoption and a respite foster carer with over 10 years experience of fostering and adoption.
Fiona has first hand experience of the joys and challenges of parenting in adoption and of navigating around the social services, child and adolescent mental health services and education support networks.

Fiona is a Registered General Nurse with experience in a variety of settings.With over 8 years professional experience in adoption support, Fiona has worked with families and social workers to support parents and carers in the context of adoption and fostering.Fiona has experience in research and education in both the clinical and social services setting.
